I was very excited when I saw my finished bike. This is the first custom bike for me and this process allows you to take home a bike that is built based on your every request.
I wanted a bike that could be more versatile than my road bike. Dave is excellent to work with, as he is extremely knowledgeable, both as a cyclist in various disciplines and as a builder. He’s very good at asking what you would like and making suggestions you weren’t aware of.
My bike has a White Industries crank set, which, I believe, is the first time Dave has used this set. I also agreed to try tubeless tires, which I was wary of using based on the fact that I tend to ride longer distances.
I was referred to Dave by my trainer Matt S. and it was fun choosing every component, as well as the colors.
I only picked up my bike two days ago, so I haven’t ridden it too many miles, but my first impressions were that it is very smooth and quite comfortable. I’m using SRAM components for the first time and getting used to shifting. The 1X chainring is also new to me.
Purchasing a custom built bike is a process that everyone should enjoy!
David is either found riding his bike or in his workshop working on them!
